Golfer Transport to St Andrews
Unless you’re lucky enough to win a ballot for the Old Course, playing golf in St Andrews isn’t cheap. But the quaint town has a lot more to offer than the famous links.
Large groups are often difficult to manage with regard to seating capacities and luggage. Having your own vehicle can give you the flexibility to adjust your itinerary on the fly.
Private Helicopter Transfers
Golfers wanting to experience an ultimate luxury travel option can add a helicopter flight as part of their Ireland and Scotland golf vacation. Helicopters offer a point-to-point service, making it possible to visit multiple locations in one day without the need for airport logistics.
A helicopter flight can be booked on a private basis for you and your party, giving you more flexibility over how long you spend at each course. Helicopters can also be chartered for a full day of golf to enable you to play two iconic courses in the same day - the perfect way to maximise your time at St Andrews and other golfing destinations in Scotland and Ireland.
Airport Transfers St Andrews
Golfer Transport offers a number of options when travelling to St Andrews for your tee time on the Old Course. Depending on your preference, we can arrange for you to be met by a private driver upon arrival at the airport or train station in Edinburgh and Dundee. This will save you the hassle of having to find a taxi or public transport once you land.
Our vehicles are fitted with WiFi connectivity so you can remain connected throughout your journey. We also include 1 x golf bag and luggage within the final price of your transfer, removing the stress of carrying extra bags on public transport or sharing with other players.
In the high season (2023), a shuttle bus service runs between the Links and Eden Clubhouses, Old Pavilion (by the first tee on the Old Course) and St Andrews Links Golf Academy so that you can warm up before your round. This is complimentary to all golfers and visitors to the Home of Golf.
Self-Drive
Golfers often find transport to be a challenge when planning their Scotland golf vacations. Whether it’s getting to the UK or getting around whilst in Scotland, self-drive transfers provide an alternative option for travellers.
Travelling to and within Scotland has been made a lot easier with the reopening of Edinburgh Airport. Direct flights are available from most major cities in Europe and the US.
Arrive in St Andrews and enjoy the sights of Fife before you play the fabled Old Course. Known as the ‘Home of Golf’, this famous course has inspired generations of players and continues to be a real test for today’s champions. For those not playing the Old, enjoy a scenic drive to Kingsbarns. This stunning links course has been compared to Pebble Beach and features a first class practice area, caddy carts and club hire. It is also a great location to play during The Open Championship.
Group Transfers St Andrews
When traveling in a group, it can be more cost-effective to rent a car or book a private transfer from the airport. This option also allows for more flexibility and convenience as you can travel at your own pace and avoid waiting for other people.
In addition to the Old Course, St Andrews offers several other historic links courses, including Crail’s Balcomie Links and a rugged David McLay Kidd course atop bluffs overlooking the sea. Newer courses provide a modern take on golf with views to match, such as the Fairmont St Andrews Torrance Course and the Kittocks Course.
St Andrews also has a variety of restaurants for every taste, from fresh seafood to traditional Scottish fare. Other popular attractions include the Fife Coastal Trail, which provides breathtaking views and a chance to see native wildlife. Those looking for a more leisurely activity can explore the town’s medieval streets or join a ghost tour to learn about the town’s eerie history.
